Thank you for your interest in donating to the collections of the Henry Ford Estate, dba Fair Lane: Home of Clara and Henry Ford.

While Henry Ford Estate is not a collecting institution, we are interested in items that have historic significance to Fair Lane during Henry and Clara’s lives.

We take the care and responsibility of our artifacts very seriously and require time for research before committing to being stewards of artifacts. 

For this reason, please be patient with us as we consider your historical items relevance and place.

The Henry Ford Estate, dba Fair Lane: Home of Clara and Henry Ford, cannot accept any anonymous donations or donations via abandoned property. To ensure proper tracking, documentation, and verifiable provenance of all artifact donations, do not mail or drop off items unless specifically requested to do so by the collections staff of the Henry Ford Estate.

We will confirm your donation request, assign it to a curator, and provide a reference number for your records. The curator will review our existing collections with regard to the donation request, and it will go before the Collection Committee for consideration. This can be a lengthy process, and we appreciate your patience as we give your offer thorough and complete attention.
