Fair Lane Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Fair Lane Garden Volunteer. Fair Lane in Dearborn, Michigan, is a National Historic Landmark built at the peak of Clara and Henry Ford’s lives in 1915. The Fair Lane gardens and grounds were designed by noted landscape architect Jens Jensen, along with other prominent designers such as Ellen Biddle Shipman. Today, Henry Ford Estate, a non-profit organization, is leading a major transformative restoration of the estate. While this is happening, the 17 acres of gardens and grounds are open year-round for public enjoyment. Volunteer support is needed and welcomed.
All volunteers must submit a completed garden volunteer information form and attend an informal interview (in person, over the phone, or online) with the Garden Volunteer Coordinator before volunteer service. Garden volunteering opportunities will be emailed regularly throughout the growing season.
